Puppy Health is infused with not just Omega 3’s, but a concentrated dose of DHA. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that plays a critical role in brain and retinal development for puppies. It is a major structural component of the brain. Prior to weaning, puppies get DHA from their mothers. However, after weaning supplementation is necessary as it is rarely found in foods. "When designing our Brain and Heart Health – Puppy Boost, we wanted to focus on nutrition that is critical for puppy development. Current food and treats designed for puppies follow the same protocol: Extra calories from fat because puppies are super active and have a little higher protein content since their bodies are growing. That’s it, a little extra beef(or what they claim is beef) and some extra fat, which likely came from the bad fat that is cut from meat, not good fats like from avocados.
